Everything you learned in Kindergarten Doesn’t Apply (part 3) May 8, 2008

3. You touch you take.  Verdict: Doesn’t apply in India.

It doesn’t matter whether I’m at the office, buying sweets, or sharing dinner with Indian friends.  Indians don’t mind touching every piece of roti in the basket before selecting which one they’ll take.  I once was at a sweets shop where the cashier touched each sweet with his bare hands while counting how many I had in my sweets box.  One time a coworker poked at a paratha on my plate to see what it was stuffed with.  Ugh.

    Hey Vedant -

When are you coming back? We’ve completely re-arranged our house using Feng Shui principles. It almost looks like adults live in the house now… no really it does. We re-arranged the practice space too and it looks nice.

By the way, none of your blogs mention the superiority of alternative rock bands over jam bands or the merits of using jazz chords.
