Everything you learned in Kindergarten doesn’t apply (part 2) May 1, 2008
2. Don’t push. Verdict: Doesn’t apply in India
Indians push their way through life. Maybe it’s the result of having to deal with a billion people thats engendered this social norm. Is someone in front of you walking too slow? Push them out of the way! Do you need to get to the front of the line? Push everyone aside! Do you want that one last seat on the bus? Push your way through! Do you think it’s taking too long to leave the cricket stadium? Push everyone in front of you, and it might take less time! People push themselves around everywhere, even at work. I suppose it’s quicker than saying “excuse me” in Telugu, Hindi, or English.
