3. You touch you take.  Verdict: Doesn’t apply in India.

It doesn’t matter whether I’m at the office, buying sweets, or sharing dinner with Indian friends.  Indians don’t mind touching every piece of roti in the basket before selecting which one they’ll take.  I once was at a sweets shop where the cashier touched each sweet with his bare hands while counting how many I had in my sweets box.  One time a coworker poked at a paratha on my plate to see what it was stuffed with.  Ugh.
